Handstripping with Laura Cook

Handstripping Seminar and Workshop

​

Join us for a hands 0n learning experience covering the key differences between wire coats and silky coats, why the behave differently and how you must adapt your technique for each. You will observe demonstration of techniques of both a wire coat and a silky coat, explaining not just the how - but the why.

The afternoon workshop session allows you to bring your own dog and practice under supervision. You will get real-time guidance, corrections and honoest feedback so you leave with confidence.

Laura has over 25 year experience grooming and producing dogs for the show ring. She also is an International Certified Master Groomer, multi- award winning groomer and lead tutor at Tails & Tweed Pet Grooming Academy.

Asian Flair -
With Steph Barber

Sunday 10th May 2026
10am - 4pm

Asian styling demo with Multi-Award winning Steph Barber.

Steph will be demonstrating a mini poodle 'Princess' style head, doughnut muzzle and flared legs, and also a salon style with a Asian twist on a poochon.

You will learn:

  • How to create the perfect princess style head

  • creating balance with a traditional round muzzle

  • Sculpting flaired legs with precision

  • Handling a floaty coat with control

  • Adding subtle creative twists for competitions

  • Everyday salon tips you can implement immediately

​

Steph is a multi-award winning groomer competing internationally. Specialising in Asian styling techniques with a creative flair. She was a nominee for Asian Fusion Groomer of The Year 2025, and winner of the Talent Determination Devotion Courage Award 2025. She has also recently achieved 3rd place at the RKC Grooming Championships at Crufts.

​This seminar will feature a German-inspired trim, carefully tailored into a salon-friendly style that balances structure, style, and a smooth transition between shorter and fuller sections to create a refined yet practical silhouette that can be adapted for day-to-day life or to the competition ring.

Seminar Series – Terms and Conditions

By booking a place at our seminar series, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Booking and Payment
All seminar places must be booked in advance. A booking is confirmed only once full payment has been received. Payment secures your place at the selected seminar.

2. Refunds and Transfers
All bookings are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable. Once payment has been made, cancellations will not be eligible for a refund, and places cannot be transferred to another person or moved to a different seminar date without express permission of the organinsers.

3. Speaker Line-up and Content
We host a variety of guest speakers as part of our seminar series. While we aim to deliver the advertised programme, we reserve the right to make changes to the speaker line-up, schedule, or seminar content where necessary.

4. Photography, Video and Recording
Attendees may take photographs or short video clips for personal use only. Any recording, distribution, sharing, livestreaming, or publication of seminar content (including speaker presentations, slides, or discussions) on social media or other platforms is strictly prohibited without prior written permission from the organisers.

5. Dietary Requirements
If refreshments are provided, any dietary requirements or allergies must be submitted at the time of booking. While we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate dietary needs, we cannot guarantee that food provided will be completely free from specific allergens.

6. Allergen Disclaimer
Food may be prepared in environments where allergens such as nuts, dairy, gluten, soy, eggs, and others are present. We cannot guarantee that any food items are entirely free from traces of allergens. Attendees with severe allergies should exercise their own judgement when consuming provided food.

7. Health and Safety
Attendees are responsible for following any venue health and safety guidance during the event. We reserve the right to refuse entry or remove any attendee whose behaviour is disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate, without refund.

8. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the organisers accept no responsibility for personal injury, loss, or damage to personal property occurring at or in connection with the seminar, except where caused by negligence.

9. Data and Communication
Contact details provided during booking may be used to communicate important seminar information, updates, or changes relating to the event.

10. Agreement to Terms
By completing a booking and making payment, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
